Hello April, it’s nice to see you. March was a bit of an asshole and I hope you’re more gracious with us than he ever was.

Month no.4 has arrived and we are all confined to our homes, only being allowed to fetch food and essentials when necessary. For some, I know it has to be a major adjustment not being able to gallivant where you like to your heart’s desire, staying out late because you’re partying with your clique (do people even use that term anymore?) and just that overall freedom of movement that you’ve now realized that you have been taking for granted for more of your life.

I, for one, miss getting into my car, driving to The Witchin’ Kitchen and filling my soul with good vibes and my belly with food. I’m currently hunkering down with my parents on the Sunshine Coast, playing cards on weekends, trying out new recipes, practicing origami, calling family overseas every weekend to see if they're ok and, I don't know, reflecting on the meaning of life amongst the chaos.

I have been binging Netflix, AnimeLab and Crunchyroll for the past week and a bit, going through the saved items on my list that I had totally forgotten about. And I know I’m not the only one who forgets about their list. My taste in entertainment isn’t the same as everyone else, so I thought it wise to enroll the help of a friend to recommend content for those who are staring at their streaming service or hard drive, wondering what in the world to watch now.

This is my friend Sai. We have people who come into our lives that just set themselves right in there and you know they’re not going anywhere and you have a friend of life. That’s Sai. He’s one of the most genuine human beings I’ve ever met in the longest time and man I am lucky to have a friend like him. And if you ever walk past us and eavesdrop, it is blatantly obvious that we are probably the biggest pair of nerds you’d run into that day. Almost everything we talk about is pop culture related from games to tv shows and movies, this dude knows his stuff and is my top choice for pub trivia team mate! What better way to kick start this binge list for you wonderful readers than with Sai’s top5 picks!

Sai’s Top 5 Lockdown Watchlist.

1.) Boston Legal. You’ve got the greatest trial attorney that’s ever lived, the most loveably vile lawyer, Buzz Lightyear and Candice Bergin as a law firm trying absurd cases such as an African American girl suing a production of Annie, some highly religious parents and Wiccan parents jointly suing a school for their Halloween celebrations and Betty White’s illustrious criminal endeavor. You’ll never get bored.

2.) The Blacklist. We also join James Spader as he plays the Concierge of crime, a whimsical yet badass with a penchant for stories and monologues. As opposed to his roles back in the 80s, seeing Spader in the skin of Raymond Reddington is quite captivating.

3.) Anything from SNL Alumni. Now this would apply to any of the movies that feature John Candy, Dan Ackroyd, Eddie Murphy etc. So see Ghostbusters, The Great Outdoors Uncle Buck, and Beverly Hills Cops just to name a few.

4.) Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 90s Comedies. Tall, muscular, intimidating and everything there is to make the greatest action hero ever but also does comedy extremely well. Be sure to check out Junior, Twins and Kindergarten Cop.

5.) Zucker, Abrahams + Zucker Parody Movie. Classics such as Airplane, the Naked Gun trilogy and tv show. These are favorites for their dry wit and to think that the Naked Gun tv show got cancelled because an Exec felt that there were too many jokes. In the world today, I think we need jokes more than ever because laughter is the best medicine.

I'll be releasing more Watch Lists as the weeks go by just so everyone can stay entertained and hopefully keep their minds off of the really unpredictable world we live in now.

Don't forget to wash your hands, practice social distancing reach out to those you care for to see if they're doing alright or if they need anything. All we have is each other.
