It is November 26th and we have exactly 29 days till we hit Christmas 2019!
Where has the year gone?! But that's always the case, isn't it? We begin the new year, list out all our resolutions that we will never fulfill, countdown till our next birthday and then next thing you know, it's the holidays again!

I, for one, am an absolute nerd for the holidays! I love it with all my heart. Even though I live in a country whose climate is mostly tropical, I am all about that festive jive! Unlike most countries on the other side of the world, Christmas over here is when we're about to jump into summer and it is hot, humid, sticky and immensely irritable. And the flies are a real menace. Cooking becomes a hundred times harder because everything is hotter and plus if you're in a small kitchen, you can't have many hands helping out since there's barely any space to move around. But when we need to, we'll made do. Maybe someday I will be able to experience a magical white Christmas complete with snow and ice and the wonderful 6+ft real tree to put the presents under.
But the holidays can be hard work too. The planning. Oh my glob! The planning! This year I think my mum and I started planning the menu from September which felt like yesterday! I am just happy that my requests made the cut this year - roast port for the main and coconut cream pie for dessert *drool*
I have my own list of things I enjoy every holiday season. Such as:
- Watching holiday movies.
- Driving around and looking at houses dressed up with Christmas decorations and bright lights.
- Drinking store bought egg nog (because ain't no one got time to make it).
- MICHAEL BUBLÉ'S CHRISTMAS ALBUM!!!!!!!
(For me, it's not really Christmas if it's not a Michael Bublé Christmas).

Being surrounded by close loved one do the trick too. Although there are the ones we love that aren't a short drive away, but we think of them still. Calls, texts and cards matter during this time of year because not everyone gets to have a very merry festive season. We are not all that lucky.
Like I said, I am a nerd for Christmas so as we draw closer to December 25th, I will be posting photos and writing more blogs of this beautiful time of year.
Till next time, be kind to one another.
Ryssa x
